Prof. Tetsuo Tsutsui, the head of administrative office of OPERA, decided to move to Tsukuba to operate a new NEDO project on OLED standardization. Although we missed him very much, we expect that he will organize domestic liaison between universities, industries and national laboratories, aimed for establishment of strong research activity of organic electronics in Japan.

Kyushu Shinkansen, super bullet train, was launched!
Kyushu Shinkansen, the super bullet train, was launched in 13th March. From Hakata (Fukuoka) to Kumamoto, it takes only 33 min. I enjoyed the very short trip and the cabins are very much quiet, smooth and almost no rollings! I believe that the Japanese technologies on the bullet trains would be No.1.
Meeting with the Mayor, Mr. Takashima, of Fukuoka City
OPERA group met with the Fukuoka city mayor, Mr. Souichiro Takashima. He is a really nice looking guy and has deep understanding for science and technologies. We exchanged the idea to expand and develop Motooka Science Park (MSP) (provisional name) in front of Kyushu University with the new technologies such as organic photonics and electronics. We gifted a picture depicting future prospect of MSP. He promised us a intensive support for our research activity.
